TIA Stroke

Expert Support to Help You Recover After a TIA Stroke

A TIA, or mini stroke, can be a frightening experience. The symptoms may have passed quickly, but for many people, the effects don’t disappear as neatly as expected. You might feel more tired than usual, a little unsteady on your feet, or worried about what could happen next.

At CN Rehab, we support people after a TIA or stroke at our neuro rehab clinic in Stourbridge. We help you rebuild your strength, balance and confidence, so you can get back to living your life without that worry hanging over you.

What Is a TIA Stroke?

A TIA (transient ischaemic attack) is often called a mini stroke. It happens when the blood supply to part of the brain is briefly blocked, usually by a small clot. The symptoms are the same as a stroke, but they pass quickly, often within minutes and always within 24 hours.

Symptoms of a TIA

TIA symptoms come on suddenly. Use FAST to spot them:

  • Face: is the face dropped on one side?
  • Arms: can they lift both arms and keep them up?
  • Speech: is their speech slurred or confused?
  • Time: call 999 straight away.

Rehabilitation and Support After a TIA Stroke

Not everyone needs rehab after a TIA, but many people benefit from expert support. Our physiotherapists and rehab specialists can help with:

  • Fatigue and low energy that lingers after a TIA
  • Balance problems, dizziness or feeling unsteady
  • Mild weakness or clumsiness in an arm or leg
  • Loss of confidence walking, driving or going out alone
  • Getting active again safely to support your long-term health

At CN Rehab, we start with a full stroke recovery assessment, listen to how you’ve been feeling and build a plan around your goals.

Recovery From a TIA Stroke: How We Help

Our team takes a practical, personal approach to recovery from a TIA stroke. We focus on what’s holding you back and help you work through it at a pace that feels right.

Rebuilding energy and fitness

We’ll help you get active again with a graded exercise programme that builds stamina without pushing you too far. Equipment such as the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill and FES cycling lets you exercise safely while your confidence grows.

Improving balance and confidence

TYMO and Strolll AR Glasses help us improve your balance, posture and walking in a safe, supported setting. Feeling steady again often makes a big difference to how confident you feel getting out and about.

Addressing lingering weakness

If you have mild weakness in an arm, hand or leg, we use targeted physiotherapy alongside tech such as the AMADEO and Functional Electrical Stimulation to rebuild strength and control.

Staying active for the long term

Regular exercise is one of the best ways to lower your risk of a future stroke. We’ll give you a programme you can keep up at home, so the progress you make in the clinic carries on in everyday life.
